I was born into a family where folk music was part of everyday life.  My father played the accordion with a folk group and I began singing when I was 5 years old.

Although I didn't attend a music school, there were plenty of opportunities to play with friends in various groups.  I really enjoy playing the double bass.

As I grew up, I had the pleasure of playing with various musicians, most recently with brothers Pavol and Peter Zamiškovci, founder members of the BZ band, which I joined in 2002, the double bass adding an extra dimension to the accordion and fiddles. I liked their style and cheerfulness and the energy they put into their performances. We've had several very successful festivals in Poland, Shetland and Orkney and of course we've played at many concerts all over Slovakia.  The band has also produced three CDs.  Like the other band members, I really enjoyed our tour of Scotland.
