My first steps into music were to accompany my parents who appeared together in a folk group ‘Kecera in Jakubany’. Incidentally that was how they met each other. When I was a young boy, I went with them to different festivals, so music became part of my life.

Everyone has childhood dreams about what he/she would like to do in the future. Some want to be policemen, doctors or firemen, but I always wanted to be a musician. Perhaps you might ask why I thought a musician's life would be so fascinating. Well, I like meeting a lot of people, and have a good time when we play, especially when I see other people enjoying our music. You can feel this magical atmosphere coming from the audience and of course especially from the girl fans!

Of all instruments, I prefer the fiddle. Many people say that the fiddle is the most difficult instrument to play - and I think I can confirm that.

When I was seven years old, I began my musical career by enrolling in a music school in Stara Lubovna and I attended for 8 years. This was OK, but I must say that it didn’t give me as much as I expected. I continued at the second level, and in Kosice, where I went to grammar school, I gained a lot of musical knowledge and that was when I started to really enjoy music. My first important step towards a real musician's life came in 2002, when my grammar school in Kosice participated in a project called ‘Warendorf’ in Germany, where I, with my friends, presented Slovak culture and music. After that I started to play with my family’s band ‘Brothers Zamiskovci’. In the meantime, I was playing with different young folk bands in Kosice.

In 2004 we got an invitation to the Shetland Folk Festival in Scotland. Speaking personally, it was a great introduction to international music. Performing there was exciting. I never experienced such a well organized festival and such nice people. I do think that people from these islands are very friendly. After the Shetland festival we played predominantly in Slovakia, Czech Republic, Poland and Ukraine.

Then two years later (2006) we got another invitation to the Shetland Folk Festival, which we enjoyed very much. We all gained a lot of experience there, when we played with many good musicians from Shetland, Scotland, Ireland, Russia, Denmark, USA, etc.

After Shetland we were invited to the Orkney Folk Festival, but unfortunately for me I could not go to Orkney, because I had to fly home for my final year exams at high school. However, I hope that we will be able to go there again sometime, because the other members of the band have great memories of Orkney.

Our tour of Scotland which involved traveling all over from Wick in the north to Newton Stewart in the south allowed me to see beautiful scenery and meet some wonderful people.
